Don't Make This Mistake

Updated: Aug 13, 2023

Kids need a community of children who believe it’s cool to learn in order to fulfill their potential. The environment is everything. Don't forget to give your children a community to grow with! Leaders are built in the studio!

What if we could create an environment where learning is cool? Being smart, creative, and outgoing is normal. What if being an exceptional student was the norm?

Recently, I asked a student what happened to her arms since she had drawn all over them in permanent ink. She simply said she was in math class. One of the students asked her if she was bored. She nodded. One of the other students quickly added proudly that she loved math, and then another said the same. I shared my love of math as well because it was a puzzle. With ballet being a puzzle itself that uses full body, mind, and spirit, it's no coincidence that it attracts people who love to learn.

Having the right community is important. Those who strive together will have a much better chance of making the best choices. Kids need the right kind of peer pressure. The ones that remind them that engagement is the status quo.

As a teenager, there were plenty of opportunities to follow the wrong crowd. Being surrounded by the right community made it easy to let go of friendships that would only cause trouble.
